Hi all,

Ive just come in from shopping and ive found that my four guppies have turned into 12, i wasnt ready for this

can anyone help me with advice on what to do next as i dont want to loose them, i brought the guppies about 2 weeks ago, so she must have been pregnant when we brought them, either that or ive got males and females from the shop when there supposed to be all females

Thanks to anyone who responds

Rik.

A gestation period for guppies is 4 weeks. Meaning they were pregnant when you bought them.
I would advise you to get a breeding net and put the fry in there, as the water will be the same. Then just feed them really small crushed up pieces of fish food or the yolk of a hardboiled egg. (Clean up any access as it'll mess with the water).

Add them to the tank after they're big enough that they won't get eaten. Should take up to 10 weeks.
