on Wednesday our clown loach died, we'd had him about 3 weeks, this week i'd noticed the 2 honey gourami were abit 'quieter' than usual, not as nosy as they usually are, they've got worse over the last couple of days and i don't think they're going to make it..... any ideas as to what might be happening?? all the others in the tank, described below are fine.

what makes me even sadder is that the 2 are together at the bottom of tank,, as if they are cuddling :(

Aw that's such a shame,

Clown loaches are really sensitive to ich and parasites on account of them being scaleless. Maybe this is a sign? They can be affected by it much quicker thn other fish. I am not terribly experienced, I wish I could help more. I'm sure someone will be able to though.

the clown loach has been treated for white spot whilst he was with us...all the otheres look ok..... i posted 1st message last night not expecting them to be alive bit they are, i feel really hopeless.
when we first set up the tank about 7/8 weeks ago we had plants in it that the gourami ate, after they'd demolished them we didn't replace them with the same.....do you think they could be starving???
i just find it weird that they both suffering the same!!

Aw, I am sure your gouramis are not starving. How much do you feed them, how often and what? I have 2 gouramis and they get fed along with the others every second day. Have you seen them eating?

Also, you say you set the tank up 7/8 weeks ago, how long did you leave it before adding fish? Did you cycle? Are you able to test your water? Sorry for all the questions!

I hope that things get better

we had the water tested today, it's fine....

the lfs said we were'nt starving them.....

one has died, about an hour ago but can't bring myself to take it out yet...the other has somehow made its way over to it , to die as well.

Hi sorry to hear about your problems :(

When you brought the medication for the ich did you tell your lfs that you were treating a clown loach they are sensitive to some medication.
As for the gourami's I'm not sure, have you done anything different in the tank or added anything?
One thing I would recommend is a waterchange making sure to use a dechlorinator.
How do the other fish look ok? if they do you could have just had some bad luck :(

Hope things get better

David :fish:
