Help 2 Dead Females And 2 Sick Males From Egeria Plants

so i started conditioning my bettas for breading and i got some live plants of Egeria for my females to hide in. before i could even get my male and female in the same tank i notaiced all 4 of my bettas that i put some plants in were velvety. i did water changes right away and treated them but i guess not soon enough for my famales, i lost them last night. my males have made a compleat turn around since yesterday. had this happend to any one else. the ladys at the fish store said she had never hear of this before.

i doubt that it was the plants if it happened so fast, it probably was just a coincidence.

well it had been about 2 or 3 days since i put the plants in.

well i dont think it was just a coincidence when all of my fish got sick at the same time when nothing changed in the tanks but the addition of the palnts.

did you just put the plants straight in? sometimes the weights release toxins

the weights dont affect my tanks at all..... but I use have plastic plant weights, Maybe the OP uses harmful weights,

think its some lead 1s if i remember rightly, i always remove them just to be safe
