ok this morning when i looked at the tank it was fine, my molly was swiming aruond with no signs of stress or anything, but then this....10 mins ago i looked at the tank to find my female molly dead :( there is anouther guppy and ballon molly in the tank, the water stats are,

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrAte 10

the tank is a good few months old and fully cycled, but i put my finger in and the water feels really cold, i put my hand near the heater and it would seem there is no heat coming from it....ive turned it up and its light has come on but im now worried that it might not reheat the water...how can i tell if the heater is damaged? also ive been thinking about moving them from the tank, i have anouther tank, a 32Litre tank which has a betta, 3 neons and a albino catfish thing (sorry i really dont know what it is) anyway these are temp tanks till my main tank cycles, but would it be overstocked if i put the ballon molly and guppy into the 32litre?

p.s the betta and guppy have been together before and seem fine and never EVER attacked each other :) (use to be in the main tank before i relized i had to cycle it)

help me please!

or by the way lol should i leave the guppy and ballon molly in the cold tank and hope it heats up.....

Do you have a thermometer in this tank. if so what was the atual temp?

Whats the temp is the tank.
If you think the heater is faulty you need to buy a new one.
Don't raise temp back up. Just let it raise gradually.
For now wrap the tank in a blanket and increase aeration.

tank is at 20c all i did was raise the heaters temp to see if it was working, it still hasnt made a difference....have that feeling the heater is faulty :( how do i wrap it? over the top and sides aswell?? is it not safe to add the 2 to my other tank?(the 32litre) thanks

If you did move the fish you would have to climatise them to get used to the highter temp again.
Its up to you but I would run out and get a heater fast.
