Good afternoon. Introducing self. After trying many names, the one that worked was the name of my favorite parakeet, Sneaker. I'm enjoying the new tank so much. It's a 12 gal.; bio-wheel; with 4 corys and 6 platys. Time at work has been stressful, but for the last two weekends I been totally involved with the fish. Had fish years ago. I'm enjoying the chemistry set - checking ph; Gh; Kh; NO2; NO4. Values all stable with a 7.5 ph. Have several good LFS; the owner took his time and I really got good service. As the govenator says, "I'll be back" with questions and observations about the fish. I've been reading the board, and it feels good to be involved. Thank you, Sneaker.

Jon and Fishys, thank you for welcoming me. I'm reading the forums to improve the care of my fish, and I'm curious about questions such as best feeding; food varities and how best to care for a fish with flukes. But let me begin my discussion on the forum with a basic question about the ethics of supporting businesses that sell wild collected fish and corral. The two best shops in my area do a large part of their business selling wild collected specimens. My wife and I are very concerned about the potential damage to wild populations and their habitats--how do you verify that the collections are done in an ecologically sensitive manor? Thank you, Sneaker.
