Hi there fish people........

A quick intro about me:

I am just starting my second tank after having differences of opinion with my girlfriend on the first

The first tank was, and still is, a 16 gallon coldwater with four goldfish. We didn't know anything about setting up a tank when we got this one and went through all the ups and downs before it cycled. I'm a qualified landscape gardener and thus wanted to put my talent to good use to create a wonderful fishy paradise but was stopped in my tracks by the girlfriend as it would stress the fish too much by doing it after the tank had matured.

So, to solve the problem i went out and bought a 30 gallon tank to set up with tropical fish

Hi Sunflower.....

Not sure what fish to get. I like Tetras, Barbs, Plecs, etc. all the usual ones. I have an 18 month old baby boy who loves fish so anything nice and colurful.
Hopefully i'll end up with a nice mix of everything (within reason).

Just thought i'd put a photo of my tank on my intro...........

I need to get a stone to complete the arch in the centre, position the wood in the left-hand corner and add some plants and it should be ready.
