Hello everyone! I'm new here to Tropical Fish Forums. My name is Jason and I'm 18, I'm from Chicago, IL. (Well not really, I'm from a suburb of Chicago, Des Plaines, but not many people know about that so I just call it Chicago.

   I currently have 2 tanks:
40 gallon-  One demon of a convict cichlid (2 1/2 inches or so)
One semi-aggressive jewel cichlid (2 inches)
One tough baby pumpkinseed sunfish (1 inch) *I know they get huge! This is not permanent for him*
                     And 6 tiger barbs
10 gallon-  4 Wild/ Feeder Guppies (to supply my cichlids with some live food from time to time)
                    A few ghost shrimp
                    1 betta
(Once my plants grow out and fill the tank, I hope to make it a nice mini-community with cooler fish)

I'm excited to be joining the forums, as I have some neat stories (I think they are neat) of my fish, and still have many new questions everyday. I love keeping fish, it gives me endless joy.

Your sets ups sounds good.

A couple pics would be cool, esp of your demon convict and sunfish!

Thanks everyone! I'll work on getting some pics up soon!

How could I forget?! In my 40 gallon I also have a 3" blacknose dace which I got from the river. I know they are normally schooling fish but he seems very happy in there. He is adorable and has so much personality how could I forget to mention him?! He LOVES eating and if one my my cichlids happen to get a big hunk of food, or are trying to down a bigger piece of worm, he'll go right up to them and pull it out of their mouths, and then run away! It's hilarious to watch.

Here are some picture attempts. It is so aggravating trying to get a DECENT picture with my phone

I love my tiger barbs to death, but they WOULD NOT get out of the way. They had to be in almost every picture. And the rest of my fish seemed terrified by my phone being directed at them haha.

My baby pumpkinseed is not much to look at color-wise yet. But as he grows, he'll be the most eye-catching by far.
Also my blacknose dace being a natural schooler always tries to join the tiger barbs, as seen in the photo,  but they usually swim away from him. (He's such a cutie).

Eventually I'll get some better photos for everyone to see.
