deff. not a newbie when it comes to fish aquariums but im new to actually posting on a fish forum and chose this site over the rest. tank in the works right now is a 55 gallon mbuna tank. ive always had oscars most all my life but felt it was time for a little change. hope to learn alot and i look forward to talking fish

ill edit in a picture of the tank so far. i used the all color rocks so i could put in a black light as well and it looks really cool but was wondering if the black light would effect the fish??.. i still have to add cover to the other end of the tank and would like to get some live plants but im not sure what would work best for a mbuna tank??

for a mbuna set up you want to avoid plants and go with rocks and plenty of hiding places for the fish to set up territories. Head over to the Old World Cichlids sub-forum for some great advice on mbuna
