Hello to everyone, just wanted to introduce myself here. I have a 29 gallon tropical tank. It's not my first tank but it is my first serious attempt at keeping fish. I had some back in college but knew absolutely nothing about what I was doing (and yet had better luck then than now). Thanks to this site I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing wrong with my fish, so thanks.

At the moment I have three danios, a pair of guppies, a pair of mollies (the really chubby looking ones and the name escapes me), a pleco, a pair of smallish sharks, a pair of kuhli loaches and a lonely tetra. I want to get him some friends, but not until the tank cycles.

In addition to my fish I've got assorted cats, rats, guinea pigs and bunnies.

So, hi!

:hi: to the forum.

If you have so many fish without cycling the tank, then of course you're doing something wrong. However, if you stick with us, ask questions, and do research you'll have less (actually, almost no) problems.

Ask questions, do research, mingle, and join our school. :D

:hi: to the forum, Sharoane! You do have quite a few fish in that size tank, considering you are cycling the tank. I'd recommend doing daily water changes (without cleaning the gravel or filter) to reduce the amounts of ammonia in there, otherwise you may have some very sick fish on your hands :(

Hi all--yep, I realized that the tank was not nearly cycled enough and so have been doing daily water changes. Unfortunately, I did lose a few fish.

And yes, the fat mollies are balloons--one black and one white.

So, no, I won't be adding more fish for quite awhile--just some plants and decorations. I will be fussing over my remaining fish and hopefully we won't lose any more.
