I live in BC canada and am looking for keeping fish outside

I have a heater and filter etc from a former inside tank

What I need help with is hardy cold water fish species that are relatively colorful

I have kept goldfish beforehand but found that due to their constant "crapping" that cleaning and such was too much

I was thinking of tetras or danios

would those work?

I know Rosy Reds will work just fine, and they can live in water with a temperature anywhere from 30 to 90 degrees F.
