Hello Pleco Fan.....(I love my pleco also).
I just joined here too. A guy at my LFS told me of this site. I've been on others also and like to get as much info as I can, so another site is always welcomed.
My common pleco has outgrown his cave or hiding spot that he like. When I changed the water today, I rearranged things and gave him a bigger cave....actually PVC pipe, but he'll fit it. I also put a smaller one in for one of the other fish. I still put pleco's large piece of slate in there so he can get under or on top of it. But only the little fish are going near it. Should I give it a few days, a week and if he's not hiding (like he likes to do) change it again?
I went to LFS today to get filter refill cartridges (the more the eat, the more they poop...lol) and saw a fish I really want. I saw a black ghost knifefish a few years ago, and loved it. They had a chocolate knifefish which looked a little different, but close. The guy said it would get pretty big, so right now, I don't have enough tank space for it. Would a common pleco and knifefish be ok together, or would one get aggressive? Any idea? I'm not sure if a 48-50 gal would be big enough for the two (with no other tank mates).
Well, welcome, and thanks for having me also. Hopefully I can get alot of useful info from all of you. I've had fish tanks for years, but always welcome info. I started at a 10g with convicts....then onto 2 tens....then got a 30g..now have a 48g and a 16g. I still have the 30g, but have no where to set it up. Husband is tired of putting in new outlets for my filters heaters and lights! If you no anyone in the northeast that needs/wants a 30g (or 29g, not sure which) with hood ligt and stand, let me know.
Thanks
