My name is Barbra-Sue. I have been fishkeeping for probably 10 years. I've made a bit of an "oopies" with my tank and I was hoping I might find an answer here. I have been searching the archives with little luck. Sorry moderator, I tried posting in a few other sections and couldn't, so I am posting my question here.
I just moved and took the opportunity of an empty tank to do a really super cleaning on the tank and equipment. I regularly use bleach to clean my aquarium decor and equipment. I've had no problems with it. However I realized half way through the cleaning process that the bleach a friend bought me was the splash-less bleach gel, not the regular, plain, jane, cheap bleach that I buy.
Any ideas if my dechlorinator will neutralize the splash-less bleach. I have overly treated the aquarium twice with Stress Coat. I have my tank running, filters etc, but there is no filter medium in it at this point and I did not add the bio wheels to the filters to prevent contaminating them. I don't plan to get any fish for a week or two. The tank smells normal, I am not smelling bleach at all, but i am concerned about the ingredients of the splash-less bleach.
I'm guessing the true test will be adding a few fish, I was hoping though, that I might get an idea of what to expect, or any additional steps I should take before adding fish.
Thanks...
