hey guys and gals. great forum and i would appreciate your help. first about me. i have wanted to keep fish all my life and was always a bit scared of water conditions and all that stuff. after spoting a tank in a shop all set up and running i felt maybe at the age of 38 i was responsible enough to get a tank. have progressed from a small tank with guppys to 3 tanks with all sorts including some cichlids. i absolutly love it and have great water and 3 beautiful tanks.

now i need some help. i have had my frontosa now for 5 days and i have not seen him eat yet. i no they are shy but i am a bit worried. i have been feeding normal and cichlid flake, frozen brine shrimp and blood worms, high protine pellets and dried daphnie. from what i can see he has not eat a thing. thanks in advance for any help

try him on some live foods, bloodworm, tubifex or mealworms. Earthworms could be used too.
also try river shrimp, available from a good LFS (local fish shop) at around £1 for 20
large cichlids do best on a cichlid pellet, like hikari cichlid gold, rather than a flake diet.
