Hello ! I happened across this site while looking for info on fry . I started out with 4 guppies and am now down to 1(It only took 2 months) Bessie is her name and boy is she big! She is very aggressive and suprised me by having the babies early. (I thought ) I don't know how many she had . My husband and I spent 2 hours making sure we got as many as we could . There were only 8 left. from everything I have read they are about 1 1/2 weeks old . Bessie is just getting bigger everyday. Maybe she is preganant again . Which is possible .(I learned that here ) but it seems too fast.
A little more about myself and I'll hush-up. I am a mother of 3 .(11,9,6) We have 2 Dogs, a cat ,a Bird, a water dragon, a catfish(has its own tank), and in my aquarium Bessie, Algae eater -Sticky II(Sticky I died) Three little crawldads who will be leaving soon (can't have them around the fry.)my son caught the daddies. So their you have it welcome to my world and I'm glad to be in yours!

Welcome to the forums Baby_Bessie!
You certainly did pick a well known baby machine for a fish. If there's a male present, expect your female guppy to give birth every 28-31 days of about 15-40 fry. Some fry will get eaten, sucked up the filter or by luck hide and either be found by you or grown to an adult while living amongst bigger fish(rare but has happened to me). Fry are easy to keep as long as the food is small enough.

The truth is we thought she was a male at first . She came out of the male tank. After I did a little research I found out differently. That explained a lot . Even though I don't know a lot ,I do think she is beautiful She isn't colorful just black from the middle back. It's a solid even color and her tailfin is so round and just perfect .( I'm so whipped already . ) Thanks for listening(reading) Everyone here thinks I'm nuts . They wouldn't be suprised if I started handing out cigars LOL
