i just bought a some nitrite testing strips
is tat good enough?
my water seems to b like really bad cuz im getting a nitrite of 4

Hi JasonSkillz, welcome to the forum :) I don't use the test strips for nitrite. But, I have heard that they are not as accurate as the water sample type. A reading of 4 is high. A fully cycled tank will usually read 0 for ammonia and nitrites. And no higher than 50 for nitrates.

There are pinned threads about cycling a tank on this forum. You might be able to answer some of the questions by reading them. You can also post some of your questions in the beginner section for specific questions.

Hello and welcome to the forum. :hi:

As already stated, any nitrite reading is bad. The strips aren't very accurate and are actually much more expensive than a liquid kit. Get yourself a liquid master test kit that will test ammonia (yours is probably also high since you have high nitrite) nitrite, nitrate and pH. Your ammonia and nitrite should be at 0 (do daily or twice daily 15 to 25 percent water changes to lower them) and the nitrate should be 60 or below (water changes will lower that too).
