Hello all my name is Rick, but I just go by angelfeathers. I've been looking for an active FW board, and this place looks so active i probably won't be able to keep up. I belong to quite a few other forums but everyone is basically just into saltwater (not that there is anyhting wrong with that) I just prefer freshwater. I have 55 tanks that I raise differant fish in. This certainly doesn't make me an expert, I learn new things all the time. This is one of the reasons fish intrigue me so much. I like to take pics of my fish and tanks but I don't post that many because I have dial-up and it takes forever sometimes. Well hope to get to know everyone, talk to you later! :)

Hello and welcome to the forum. :hi:

55 Tanks!!! Wow!!!. If I threw all the furniture in the house out, I don't think I could fit 55 tanks in. How long does it take you to do water changes or is that your full time job. Look forward to seeing you around the forums.

Thanks for the welcome! Most of my tanks are in the basement, with the exception of a few of the larger ones. As to cleaning them I have a mark on each tank as to the desired amount of water to change and a dry erase board with scheduled water changes. I use a python so it doesn't take all that long. I basically just do so many at a time. Some days I wish I could throw out the funiture though it just takes up to much space!LOL

I guess you would have to have a pretty good schedule. I only have 5 (3 are small betta tanks) and I spend about 2 hours a week on water changes and pruning plants. I have a python also but don't use it to remove water as I'm on city water and don't want to run that much out while syphoning. As for furniture, I've been trying to convince my wife that we really don't need the sofa and a nice 125 gallon SW tank would look better sitting there but shes not buying that.

Hi angelfeathers, wow that is quite a collection of tanks! Are you running a central filter system or are the tanks on individual filters? At one point I had 30 tanks running. Most of them 20 gallon tanks with sponge filters. I had a blower to run all the air.

Hi Rick
Amazing number of tanks.
Good to have your experience on board.Im sure you are more of an expert than you make out :)
Anyway,welcome to the forums
