Hi. Have just joined this forum as I have talked my Mum & Dad into getting a fishtank. My Mums friend & her son have both got tanks & I have fallen in love with the corys. Have been helping with the water changes & feeding etc. Will be asking lots of questions soon I guess.

Hi. Caro, welcome to TFF. Hope the search for a tank goes well.
Glad you enjoyed our trip to the LFS yesterday. It wont be long before you are all set up and ready to go.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Since you have a friend with an established tank, cycling should be much easier as you should be able to get an old filter or some filter media from them to seed the tank. Good luck.

Am getting so excited about my new tank. We went & bought it last night & my Dad made the cabinet. After he has had his tea tonight we are going to put the water in & the gravel & the plants. I washed the gravel clean today & my fingers have gone all wrinkly cos I had them in water for so long. I am going to put in a sponge what come from my Mums friends tank cos she said it has got bacteria in it. I cant wait to get some fish.

what corys u like? what fish u want to get in your tank? if your just going to start i like guppies or fancy guppies i got tem when i start but stole all the food from the other fish lol i got some black widows next there good and about 5or4 a group of glowlights and a golden apple snail but watch out on top of your tank for eggs i got 3 lumps of eggs on my tank and 1 lump hatched so i got some little golden apples snail in filters lol got to clean them out. B)

Thank you all for the friendly welcome. Tank is all set up & cycling. I think it looks good. Not sure what fish to get yet, every time I go in the fish shop I keep seeing different ones & I keep changing my mind. Will be getting some silver mollies from a friend & I will also get some corys but dont know which sort yet, maybe albino cos they are so friendly.
