I started enjoying aquariums in the 70s. I’m sure you all know this tune. I started out with one & before long I had more. Ranging from 35 gal regular (the 1st tank) to a 55 gal show (someone gave me) & then a 100 gal sq. that a friend could not take with him in a move to other state. Well then I had to have a few 5 & 10 gal to use for breeding tanks for the Mollies, Platies, & Guppies. Then I started making my own backdrops & you know BAM you have 7 tanks!!! Well then in the 90s (and my 2nd marriage) I got 1 from my in-laws (I believe it was a 28 gal show) & then our daughter wanted one for her room so we got a 10 gal for a Beta & frog. Well we got rid of all of them about a couple a yrs later but something happened this month. Call it March Madness or whatever you want but 3 weeks ago I had no tanks & now we had 4!!! The family & I were in Petco & I had a 10% off & we saw the Tetra LED Aquarium Kit 29g. Well I bought it & 2 days later & a couple hundred dollars later, I was showing pix of the tank to a lady I work with & she said I have a 44 gal that has been sitting in her living room for yrs & I could have it. I asked my wife if we needed another tank & as we few talking our daughter was asking for another Beta tank so we got one & a Beta. Okay, so then the next day my wife saw some African Dwarf Frogs so we got them & put them in the Beta tank. Not sure what happen but the Beta died a few days later so we bought a 5.5 gal tank for the frogs & now we have 4 tanks in 3 weeks…
I also enjoy Scuba diving, Camping, Geocaching, Amateur radio, guitar, Motorcycling & computers.

to TFF! Hope you enjoy it here.

That was fast! Do you have any pictures? Sorry you lost the betta :( If you get another one THIS might be a good read.
You may also want to read THIS for setting up future tanks.

I do have pix of my tanks. And TY for the links. I'll check those out.
Here is my 44 gal (and it took a few trys to make the jpeg small enough to fit.

Wonderful themes for each tank!  Amazing and beautiful.  Well done, both of you!

I would suggest you look into adding backgrounds to your tanks, it would make everything pop more. Nice tanks though, you can use photo sharing websites like photobucket to post pictures on her if you copy the link.

I got my 55 gallon tank a month ago and I ask my wife everyday if we can get a 120 gallon tank. I'd love to have a few fish than just a couple

Can you tell me what Pleco you have in your 44 gallon, And what sucker fish is in your 29 gallon, and I'd also suggest switching to sand in your 44 gallon it's quite easy and would benefit your albino cories a lot, sorry if I'm coming across as rude just suggestions :)

I have been working on a background for the 29g but my wife doesn't want anything behind the 44g pentagon. Back in the 70s I would take pieces of Styrofoam & used a small propane torch to burn holes & then I would use enamel spray paint (which also melts the Styrofoam into some cool designs) & then I would glue decorative mirrors on the back to cover the holes. It is a process & I have to let the paint dry so the odor would kill the fish. But yes, I love a good background & it is in process…

I have a High Fin Spotted Pleco in the 44 & I have been thinking about using the rest of the black sand that we bought (they only had a 5 lbs & a 20 lbs at Petco so we got the 20) but was thinking about using it in the 29. I think it would look really good under the castle also.
And I have a couple of Chinese Algae Eaters in the 29g.
TNX for your input.

Well just a little info on the little guy he'll require a min. of 75 gallons and real driftwood is suggested.

The tanks look lovely. I especially like the castle and dragon in the 44, and your wife's frog tank ^_^

Keep an eye on the chinese algae eaters, as they age they stop eating algae and become more aggressive and go after other fishes slime coat.
They'll also outgrow that tank. HERE is some info on them. :)

I was told at PetSmart that the Hi Fin Pleco doesn't get as big as a standard Pleco. Was I told a story? I did see something about a Hi Fin that was 18". Also why real driftwood?
