Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to say a big hello to all on this great forum as I have (finally!) got my aquarium up and running!.

I am not a total novice as I have had one tank or another (on & off) since I was a small child, but have not had a tank since 04 due to a major house downsize!.Now back in a bigger place with a lovely 5ft x 2ft gap which now has a Juwel Rio 400 in it!.Got the tank and stand 2nd hand, and it needed 'turning' due to some major scratches on the front glass, but with a bit of dremel'ing it now looks like new!.
Treated myself to a All Pond Solutions 2000ex+ external, and a couple of half price Fluval E300 'digi' heaters,so all in all it has cost me £230 for the lot, well chuffed!.
Filled it with 60 litres of John Innes 3,40kg of 3mm pea gravel, and 5 very large bits of bogwood, all of which cost me approx £70,so just under my £300 total budget!.
Added water last night,so now playing the waiting game!,I am going to plant this tank fairly heavily and just have maybe (when everything is hunky dory) 2 bi-colour and 2 black Angels,20-30 Cardinal's,and 20-30 black tetras (maybe),also thinking of 8-10 sterbai corys, but am unsure about that,as I dont fancy clouds of 'compost smoke' floating around the tank when they start digging!.

Any ideas for other fish would be more than welcome!.

All the best everyone!

DT

defo go with the sterbai corys  its worth putting up with the digging!! my friend has some they are my favourite cory :p and welcome to the forum you'll have to post some pics of your setup i love the juwel range of tanks :good:

Sounds like an excellent plan! Fishless cycling/seeding with mature media, I hope?
