Hello all, I used to keep cichlids a long time ago and decided to start again a few months ago with a mixed tank, I know its not perfect but thankfully fish appear to be be happy.

If the picture in post 1 is your tank, it appears you have discus, angelfish, rainbowfish, Columbian tetras and a few other bits in there. Discus and rainbowfish need at least half their diet to be made of plant matter. They will eat aquatic plants like Ambulia and Duckweed. Add a heap of plants to the tank

The Columbian tetras can be fin nippers and might cause problems to the discus and angelfish.

More info on discus can be found at the following link. It's worth a read when you have time. The part you want is about 1/3 down the page, use the scroll thing on right of screen.
