Hi all!

I have read so much useful information on this site over the past few months so though it was finally time to join!

Myself and my boyfriend have been keeping freshwater fish for a while now and I have myself (on a smaller scale) since i was little.

Currently we have the following:

190 litre Juwel corner tank with

1 Red Clawed Crab
2 Malawi Shrimp
1 Common Plec
1 Betta (red)
1 African Bush Fish
1 Mickey Mouse Platy
5 Molly (3 dalmatian: 2 male/1 fem, 1 green - female (Big Bertha!), 1 silver - female)
6 Neon Tetra
1 X-Ray Tetra

Plus 2 Molly fry in a fish net breeder! :)

Think this place will become even more useful to us as our tank grows and changes, hoping to make some useful contributions as well!!

Welcome to the board.
You might want to think about keeping the betta in a tank of its own.
Neons will nip the betta fins and also betta can be fin nippers too.

Hi there and thanks for the welcome :)

We have kept Bettas in the past, always in a community and have found that, (i guess just like a humans) their personality's differ. We have been lucky so far with very docile, friendly bettas. Our guy at the moment only has a slight issue with the platy (possibly his bright colouring) but as there's so much space in the tank they rarely bump into each other. Even so, I have only ever seen him raise his gills once until platy bumbled to the other side of the tank. No problems with the neon nipping so far either (have had the neons and betta for around 6 months now), we do have a quarantine tank and always on the look out for any dodgy goings on!! :good:
