Hello, Just Joined.

Hi Everyone,

Just joined but I've kept tropical fish for nearly 30 years, I'm 41 so started early with my Dad.

I've had quite a few different setups, my latest tank a Juwel Rio 240 I bought around 5 year ago but after a few water quality issues earlier this year I upgraded and fitted a Eheim Pro 3 Electronic 2078 external filter and Vectron V2 600 UV steraliser.
So just this week I've removed the Juwel internal filter which has allowed me to fit a 3D background and change the decoration.

My Clown Loaches are not happy in their new home though and are currently hiding in their new den. My oldest loach I've had for 26 years, I always keep six and lost the other 5 after a pump failure ten years ago so my other 5 loaches I've had for ten years. My other fish I just pick to decorate the tank and live in harmony with the loaches. Currently have a couple of angels and a mixture of Tetra's and Platty's.

The tank is only a modest 4' Juwel Rio 240, removing the internal filter and fitting the 3D background has made a big difference.

Here's how the tank looked a few years ago.

The loaches range between 5"-9", my 26 year old one is the smallest and has a misshaped tail fin.
