I decided to get a fish tank( well, I already got a 15 gal one from my biology teacher) and been looking for some fish experts to answer all my nooby questions

Making friends with bio teachers seemed to pay off for you. Unfortunately for me, we had simulations of fruitflies, instead of actual specimens, so my fish never got any.

Glad to have you around, you should be able to get your answers questioned here, though it would not be a bad idea to pick your teacher's brain.
