I am starting all over with new fish tanks and pond got Gar and Arowana and Oscars.
My house burned down and I lost several tanks and my fish so I went a different route this time.
Always looking for advice on how to do things better.

Oh no! That is not good. Did any fish or tanks make it?

If you have no tanks and are wanting a new one then go with a 10 or 20 gallon as a starting point. In a 20 you can have a variety of species, however a 10 restricts it a bit. Remember, with a new tank it will always need cycling but I guess you already know that considering you had tanks before. The pond sounds cool as well, although I don't know anyone who is a 'monster fish' expert so if you have any problems to do with the pond I can't really help unfortunately.

OMG I feel so sorry for you. That's so unfortunate.

I feel like you don't need a lecture about cycling a tank considering you had a 250 gallon saltwater.

Yah the new tanks are in my Garage this time everything is run thru redounded systems but I like the large tanks always feel like I want my fish to have space to grow and still be able to swim.

Thank you my animals where the only thing that mattered to me everything else can be replaced it will be a long time before I can get past this.

Ok, what tank are you considering setting up?

For now I have a 300 gallon fresh water and a 100 gallon fresh the 300 has my Gar in it till they outgrow it the other Oscars I felt like I needed a different direction. I felt like going down the same path would only make it harder to move on if that makes sense.
