Hi there,
I have a two and a half month old 41 gallon (UK) tank which due to some early losses now contains the rather strange combination of
4 Flame Tetras (7 died!)
3 Orange Platties ( 1 died)
+ 2 week old fry!!!
1 Blue Male Guppie (1 died 1 disappeared)
3 Cardinal Tetras ( 3 Died)
3 Peppered Catfish
The tank is quite heavily planted with two pieces of bog wood and floating plants and has a small natural gravel substrate.
As you can tell from the list of losses I have NOT found it easy
. The Flame tetras basically died at the start while the tank was cycling. I them added the gupppies and the platties who were fine until I added the cardinals who not only died in the first two days but also took the two guppies and one platy with them. Was unable to see any signs of disease and water levels checked by me and the fish shop were fine so it remains a mystery.
I am hoping that with help things will improve and that I will cease to be known as the fish killer of Gilwern
