Hello From Newbies

Hi there,
Only found this site yesterday and this is our first post.
Our names are Rob and Kerry and we have only had the aquariums for about 6 months so we still have plenty to learn.

We have a 80 litre tank, measures approx 70 x 35 x 45 cm

In this tank we have:
7 neons
4 platy
4 pengiun tetra
1 clown loach
1 mollie
1 algae eater (sorry don't know the correct name)
2 denison, still small at the moment

The platies have given birth to 2 babies in the last few months.


We also have a smaller tank approx 40 litres in which we have:
2 neons
3 cherry barbs (think thats what they are called)
2 ballon mollies

As i said we are complete novices still really so any advice and comments are welcome.

someone might correct me on this...but an 80litre sounds a bit small for a Clown Loach. If it isnt then why didnt someone tell me...im desperate for one and thought my 180litre was too small

Judging by the dimensions of your tank it would work out at about 110litres/ 29Gallons.
The Clown Loach will need to be rehomed I'm afraid as they have the potential to grow up to 12" and are best kept in groups of 3 or more.
The Barbs will also need rehoming as they will grow to about 6" and are best kept in groups of 5 or more. As they are quite active then they will need more swimming space.
Mollies as far as I know, also prefer to be kept in groups so it might be worth getting at least 3 more.
Your 40 litre tank works out at about 10 Gallons so not much room for many more fish.
Neons like to be in groups of 5+ as do the Cherry Barbs.
