Hello From Excited Noobie

Hi All.... Newbie here!

We bought a 96 ltr tank 2 weeks ago and left the tank since to do its thing with the treatments etc, had a bit of a nightmare with algae taking over where the water had been still, not to mention a little snail that was poo'ing everywhere unnoticed until yesterday!! But yesterday we put our first fish in the tank (Little bright red ones, cant remember the name) and I'm so excited by my new purchase that i thought I would check for a forum community on the big WWW....

I was really pleased to find this one, and having read a few posts it looks like a great forum to be part of...So hello to everyone, I hope you can help me along the way with my new hobby and if I can be of help to anyone else EVEN BETTER!!

sounds like zebra danios you have. i'm sure everyone would love a pic of your tank. i'm the only one here wierd enough to ask for a pic of your little snail probably.

Thanks for the great welcome, I have changed my avatar to be one of my first 4 fish, so you think theyre zebra danios?!?!

Hopefully below you should see a pic of my tank too, looking a bit bare at the moment as I had to take the plants out as they died after 2 weeks!!

Going to add a couple more tropicals in a week or so....

as for the snail....its bad new im afraid....the guy at the shop said to take it out as it was poo'ing everywhere so my flatmate sent it marching out to our balcony where he is probably still sat freezing! Not nice but I'm sure the fish will be happier for it!

The fish in your avatar is a platy. It's a livebearer and very good beginner fish! It look like your off to a good start, if you need any help with fish, just ask in the beginner's section and we'll be glad to help. Welcome to the site!

I had a snail problem but i did as you did before there was to many im sure you will like this site.

Are you a snail freak?? If so whats you stand on Malayan live bearing snails..add them to your tank or not?
