Hello From Betta Land!

I am new to the community and looking forward to some friendly faces. Nice to meet you all!

Tell us a bit about yourself.

Well there isn't much to tell. I work as a dog groomer, I have 3 chihuahuas that do Agility, Herding (yes, really.) and working on Obedience. (Ha!) I have a two year old son who is as fish obsessed as I am, and between him, my husband, and me, we..well...have a lot of fish.
 
I keep mostly bettas, except 3 goldfish which I rescued from a horrible death.
 
At the moment my bettas include:
 
Kasumi, white female crowntail by herself in a 10 gallon. She doesn't play well with others but I love her.
Sprinkles, male multi-color crowntail with guppies in a 30 gallon. He thinks he is a guppy and gets depressed when by himself.
Patriot, male crowntail by himself in a 10 gallon
Crest, just got him. He's a breath taking blue and yellow. He's in a quarantine tank waiting to go in my 10 gallon with ghost shrimp.
 
The girls: Jetta, Roxy, Minx, Dori and Bella, all together in a 10 gallon. They're different tail types and love being together.
 
I got most of them from Thailand. I'm not sure why, but the bettas I get from this breeder just seem a lot more active and strong then the ones I've gotten from a pet store.
 
Eventually my dream is to win the lotto and own a betta farm. I would surround myself with beautiful crowntails all day long.

I am a bit of an MTS sufferer due to my lovely Bettas and you can find out more about mine in my profile, which includes links to pictures of them.
 
CTs are one of my favourites although I have tended now to love the Plakats as I find they are the strongest of all of the types.  My purple Plakat came from Thailand and he is a beast of a fish.  You will find him in the link in my profile called "What would you have done?", which is actually about my latest acquisition but the purple makes an appearance.

 that your son is as obsessed as you are, does he help with any of the fish maintenance/feeding?
 
TIP: add your profile into your location, which can still be The Fish Room, but if you could add your State/County and Country it assists in advising etc., as there are different equipment etc., depending on location.

I have a Chihuahua as well....Fred.E Bear. He's very obedient though almost always gets what he wants, .
The Betta in my profile pic is just off the net .
Sounds like you sure love your Betta's lol. They are awesome fish though.

Well no one has eaten me yet, so I'll be brave and share a photo.

Some of the fish (and dog!) communities I've joined have been not very nice, so I'm always a bit nervous when joining somewhere new. It's lovely to meet people with friendly, cheerful attitudes!
