Absolute Newbie Here. I have a 48 X 19 X 12.5 inch 50 US gallon aquarium and I have spent the last few weeks researching the web and this great forum. My aquarium used to house my 2 beloved leopard geckoes until they passed away after having them for 15 years. I wanted to convert their old home into another home and decided to go with freshwater tropical fish. I plan to do a fishless cycle with the directions posted on this forum. Thanks Ryan! I will be keeping a fishless cycle journal. I can't wait either! So far I have only received the hood with the integrated light kit in the mail. So as of right now all I have is my tank, stand and hood. Hoping to receive some packages tomorrow.

Received all the rest of my items on my list yesterday around 6pm! I love FedEx! Asked my wife earlier in the day to pick me up some plain ammonia at the grocery store during her regular food shopping trip. The bottle she got had surfactants in it so it was useless. Had to rush to Lowe's and 2 different Ace Hardware's before I could find some plain ammonia. Got to the second Ace 15 minutes before closing time. Darn vacuum/filler with 25 foot hose wouldn't fit on my kitchen sink so I had to make 10 trips with the good ole 5 gallon bucket to fill the tank! Stayed up till 2 am setting everything up. On to my fishless cycling quest!
