Hello everyone! (Not sure what a newbie is lol, presume it means new person!)

I'm just looking around forums looking for advise from experienced fish keepers, instead of relying on the info. I'm gettin from books and the internet and things which seems to give you different information!

I've had a few tanks in the past that have been looked after mainly by my dad and am lookin to set up my own tank at some time in the near future. I'm hopin to get some Gouramis/Angels something like that so will have plenty of queries for you folks as soon as I get round to it!

Just thought I would say hello!

(Oh, just wondering if anyone on here is from the Bristol area in the UK, need some advise on the best places to buy my fish and stuff [will probably buy my plants on the internet but don't think I could rely on it to buy my fish].)

Thanks.

Welcome to the site, sorry not near Bristol, but I'm sure someone will be, there are all sorts on here!! Good luck

Hello The Mottfish. Welcome to the site. I thought I should tell you that the angels will need a big tank, 29+ gallons. I would look into a 35-40 gallon tank if you would like angel fish along with some gouramis. Angels can get more aggressive when there bigger so sometime it can become a problem. I would suggest some Moonlight Gouramis or some smaller types to go with your angels. keep in mind these cannot be kept with bettas and do best if there is two females for every male. Goodluck!

Thanks for the advise DiscusLova :) .

This may not be the relevant place to ask this but does anyone know the formula and stuff for knowing the size of your tank/how much water it can hold? (The tank I'm hoping to use is a few years old and can't remember how much water it can hold. [It's 14d x 13w x 36l ins. if someone could work that out for me?] )

I believe the conversion to gallons is LxWxH divided by 231, however, since you're in the UK, you wouldn't use gallons, would you? I dunno the conversion to liters, sorry.
