Hi everyone. I've spent a lot of time on here all day just reading, and finally decided to just join. I had always wanted to have fish, but never really put any effort into actually getting some. Once I moved into my own apartment, I was living alone and had plenty of space. My girlfriend completely surprised me and bought me a 10 gallon tank kit for Christmas last year. I love it!
I currently have:
bristlenose pleco
rainbow shark
dalmation molly
cory cat
convict cichlid
Numerous others have unfortunately passed away... I have had 2 tiger barbs, bala shark, blue ram, 2 swordtails, and some other pleco. This was my first tank and I admit I should have done a little more research before buying the fish that I did.
The convict cichlid was easily the smallest fish in my tank when I bought him a couple months ago. He was the one getting bullied... but he is huge now. I had no idea he would grow that fast. He has eaten a dalmation molly and red platy, and is currently starting to pick away at my other molly.
I just picked up a used 12 gallon Eclipse tank yesterday with everything included for only $50. I need to get that cichlid out of the tank before he eats any more of my fish! I put in some gravel from my 10 gallon tank to help move the cycle along a little faster.
I'll probably have to start another thread somewhere with suggestions for my new tank... I want to do this one the right way! Anyways, I'm glad to be a part of this forum, and I know that you all will give me great suggestions and advice from what I can tell already.
-Jeff
