I'm picking up a tank tommorow (my first tropical set up), it's 36 x 15 x 12,
How much water does this hold in litres and/or gallons ? (uk measures)

Welcome to TFF oh and by the way when you think you've finished reading all about fishless cycling, just go back and read it again oh and again oh and once more probably. I think that should cover it for now... :good:

48x18x18 is standard 55 gallon? is that right? i keep getting people telling me different numbers and i want to know once and for all what i should tell people when i say my tank is XXX gallons

standard tank sizes vary all over the world, so sorry no one can tell you 'once and for all' what the dimensions of a standard xx gallon tank are.

:dunno:

For future reference.

Go to google

Type in:

36inches x 15inches x 12inches in UK gallons and you'll get a conversion for that body of water.

Bare in mind that external tank measurements are not the same size as the water within + gravel and aquascaping stuff displace a fair amount of water.
