Hello all! I am Terry2fish a fellow fish lover....
I had a 26 gallon tank for about 6 years when my kids were small and we had various fish in it though I was never successful with plants in it. I was busy raising 4 children and the aquarium was a Christmas gift to the family one year.
My youngest son developed an interest in fish in college. This last year after he graduated and was preparing to move on he asked me to take a couple of his tanks. I had a small 10 gallon tank that a friend no longer wanted and I had started with it by planting it and learning about red tailed sharks and how aggressive they can actually be...LOL!
My son gave me a 35 gallon tank and got me a brown puffer for it last year. That tank is planted and doing well as is Frankie the puffer. He eats a variety of live foods and is healthy and well.
This last fall just before Christmas my son gave me a 65 gallon hexagon tank. It came with a nice assortment of plants and one tiger barb and a catfish. I got it all set up and replanted. I added 5 more tiger barbs for a total of 6 and the catfish that hides out in the rock tunnel mostly.
I wanted to get some larger fish to add to this 65 gallon tank but I am not sure the tigers would do well with anything else but more tigers so I am waiting to see what develops.
I look forward to getting to know you all and see and hear about your fish stories! My husband got a digital camera for Christmas so we will be learning to take pictures of the tanks to share soon here.
