Why should I tell you?
i might have caught ich in the early stages, a couple of my platies have this tiny little white spot on their tails, I was going to start adding the aquaillibrium salt today and I noticed it. It wasnt there in the morning!!! Could it be a bit of debris? Or mabye white spot is ticking in my aquarium and my fish will from time to time, suffer minor infestations? I added a pich of salt and raised the temperature to 82F. What should I do now?

DOnt worry, It is defiNATLEY ich, they will be o.k since I caught it early.
I have increased the temp to 82F and I am adding salt to a concentration of .2%

What fish do you have though? some fish are very intolerant of salt and you could seriously harm them...

people add salt not knowing that they may harm their fish. Corydoras are one fish that although listed as salt in tolerant but many, including mine, tolerate it quite well.

Basically catfish including plecs and corys, loaches and the majority of tetras including other "scaless fish" cannot tolerate salt. If you have salt intolerant fish and you have whitespot its much, much better to just use meds to cure it instead.

I prefer to use ich cures as they don't put strain on the biological filtration of the aquarium. It's amazing the ammount of people who put a bit of salt into their aquarium and expect the ich to just disapear.

remembering of course, that it's only a half dose of the meds or it will still kill all those scaleless fish...
