I thought there was still some time before delivery but I got home today to find that she gave birth what a disaster :shout: I don't know how many of the fry were eaten and how many are still alive.:shout::shout::shout: I don't know what to do. How can I save the others? :shout:I had a spare tank for the fry but I didn't figure the timing right.:shout: My bigger tank is filled with shells and a house and some live plants will this help? how can I feed the fry in the presence of the bigger fish? I also have cories are they dangerous to the guppy fries they are bottom dwellers PLEASE HELP[/size]

just provide them w/ good cover... the fry will eat the same thing as the adults, just make sure its small enough for their mouth... i doubt the cories will be dangerous to your fry

Well if you have plenty of plants the fry will have cover or you can just buy a isolate box. Also the bottom dwellers can eat the fry if they are omnivore(both plant and animal matter). About the food you should have proper food that specifically aims at fry if you want the best growth result and food that will make their immune system strong. Look for Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids which is good for growth and immune system. I put vitamins in a form of a liquid in my water to make my fish develop more vivid colors and to strengthen them from desiese. Also great growth. I use vita-chem. So dont worry to much. But dont rush things :X .

It it would be best to remove the fry(use net or even a better a turkey baster and just suck em up) that way you can control their feedings and there's no competition or risk of being eaten. They prefer warmer temps of 77-79F and should be fed 3-5x a day of finely crushed flakes or fry foods.

Yeah, I agree with snowy angel, your best bet is to remove them from the bigger tank. Good luck with your fry. :D Did you find any? :/

thanks guys for your replies. :D guess what 8) I found nine is that normal? :look:

Well nine is ok but not normal. It can have up to 80 fry  . Also the quality of foods will increase the chances of a bigger amount of fry :fish: . Live foods are great. Even Freeze-dry(Hikari is Great).

Now I have got another question. :/ My fish dealer tells me that fry , starting from the tenth day after birth, should eat live worms. Is that true? he also says I should put the worms in a container having holes and leave it in the fry tank. won't that make the water dirty and unhealthy for the fry? can I give up dried food for live worms forever? won't that make the fish sick? Don't the fish need vitamins that are added to dry food?
