if you have a tank that is divided into say 5 or six sections how would you heat each section ???? or keep at a nice temp for each section ????

could someone answer asap before i leave work tonight

:good:

If the water has a constant flow between each divider it should be ok with 1 heater at 1 end.
Maybe to make it as even as possible have the heater in the middle section?
If the water cant flow between the dividers then maybe try a heat mat under the tank, I know some people use these successfully but be careful with over heating - unless its on a thermostat.
Hope this helps

I have a 3 place tank. I have the heater on one end and a small filter (air driven so I can control it) on the other. With no fish there was 4 degrees difference from one end to the other. (glass dividers) I think with the fish movement there will be slightly less difference. Don T.

Yeah if there is water flow through the dividers then you should be fine placing the heater. with best results.. right in the middle.

Only thing with having the heater in the middle is you'd need water flow both ways. If you put the heater and filter on one end, and point it towards the other end, it should work better then putting a heater in the middle. Assuming there are holes in the glass for water flow. If the dividers are solid glass I don't know how the heat will get from 1 compartment to the other.
