do all heaters submerge fully into the water?
Just one of mine has a min and a max line on it, the max line being under the head bit were you change the temp, so i always keep it out of the water, but its a pain when trying to put the lid's on tanks?
In the same place on my other is the min line, with no max line... so i put that one fully under and it works fine.
