hi all

i am triying to put my heater up to 86f cos i have white spot in my tank. my tank is 180l tank with 200w heater but only getting 82f on max. so i got a new heater 300w but still getting 84f on max? can someone help me?

Either of those on a 45 galon tank should get it up there easily. What type thermometer are you using? A lot are quite inaccurate, even the digitals. I had 2 digitals stuck side by side on my 75 gallon. The 2 probes were less than 2" apart. Th temp on one was 77.9 while the other was 80.1. So it could well be that your thermometer is the problem and not your heaters.

the thermometer is the sick on the front one outside the tank but i have tested the water temp with 2 more thermometer as well? the heater is a elite heater from pets at home?

I'm not very knowledgeable on ich but would think that 84 would be fine. I don' think the difference in 2 degrees will make a huge difference in the life cycle.It may extend a phase an extra half day to a day but that's about it.
