I walked in to the office tonight and saw a cory laying on it's side on the bottom, when I bent down to inspect the tank, all the glowlight tetras were dead, three of the four corries and one of my catfish looked very unhappy.
I put my hand on the glass and omg the water was outrageously hot.
We took all the fish out into a double ended bowl, dead Vs alive, and changed out about half of the water in the tank. It's a lot cooler now, I put the one surviving cory downstairs in the big tank with the other corries so he'd have company because I am expecting this was a pretty traumatic experience for him
The banjo cats seem ok, they don't move much so it's hard to tell. The snowball plecs seem perfectly normal, the girly betta seems ok, she's just swimming around like normal.
Now what do I do?
It's 8:30pm and I have no where to get a new heater from. I have had to turn the old one back on and we're going to have to turn it off every time the water warms up. But without it I expect everyone would be dead by morning.
Should I be doing anything else to make them more comfortable? no one is ill so there are no meds I can add, I put extra airlines in, I changed the water to a normal temp, I haven't fed them tonight - I don't know if I should or if there's any reason I shouldn't? should I conduct business as usual to readjust them?
I can't believe all our little glowlights are dead (Dylan calls them "Daddy's headlights").
Any ideas?
