Fish Herder
OK, So sat morning got downstairs, switched on light's as normal then straight into kitchen for coffee and bloodworm. (Lovely combo you should try it sometime)
Went and put the two cubes into the 4ft, it was then I noticed that the fish wern't attacking them as they normally do. Checked Temp it had dropped a few degree's, fish were lerthagic. Checked fuse on heater (300wt) still not working. So I did a large water change adding de-clor slightly warmer water than usual, the temp I normally have it is 26dg. Once the water level was up to the usual the temp was 28dg. All the fish were back to normal. I left the light on to minimise temp loss. Later that evening I noticed one of the rams just lying by the bogwood. At first I thought it was the female, even two spot the Ellioti kept nudging him. I was only out the room for a couple of mins and came back and found my Beautifull Male Bolivan Ram dead. All the other fish fine. The strange thing is the female Ram who showed abso no interest in him has now started to occupy his part of the tank. I did exactly the same on Sunday with no issues to the fish. Luckly I had a 100wt heater on order for my 60 litre which turned up today, I will use that untill the 300wt heater I've ordered today turns up. Was I just extremely unlucky with the ram. I do weekly water changes so I wouldn't have thought that would have done it. The female is actually doing better now the male is gone ie coloured up abit more. Strange eh? Oh yes I had them both over a year.
