Hi, I set up the tank, washed the gravel thoroughly, added the oxygenating thing and the heater etc...

The tank seemed all set up so after a couple of days I bought 5 small fish. I think they're tetris (sorry I'm in S.Korea so didn't actually catch the name of the fish).

The heater malfunctioned and the water is now cold. 4 fish died yesterday but incredibly 1 is still alive.

Owing to my poor knowledge of Korean I can't get the heater replaced until tonight. Anything I can do to help the fish through the day? I pondered adding warm water to the tank.

How cold is it actually where you are? Have you got a thermometre in the tank? I wouldn't expect tetras to actually die from cold this rapidly unless the temperature went well below 20C. And given that Seoul is in the northen hemisphere (=summer), I wonder if this really is the main cause.
I am wondering if there could be other problems in this tank. What size is it? Are you able to test the water for ammonia and nitrites?

I'll have to ask if I can test the water. The one little fish I mentioned this morning looks quite happy in there. The tank isn't one of the largest but I could put my cat in there and she'd have room to stand up and turn round comfortably.

It's still the rainy season here so it's about 25 C

They have probably died from the cycle of your tank, please read the pinned topics in the begginer section for more information on cycling a tank.
