Why do so many of you have your heaters attached crooked on the backs of your aquariums? I've never ever seen that before coming to this forum so I'm just curious.

Probably because they are like my heater which says it should be installed at 45degrees as otherwise the heat rises up into the thermostat and it burns out or doesn't set the temperature properly. It's annoying, would be better vertical in my small tank!

Hi, although both my heaters are vertical and working perfectly there are some members who say that because the warm water from the heater rises this will effect the thermostat if the heater is mounted vertically.

I am happy with vertical :good:

There's so much water movement in my aquariums, I can't see that really happening. Hmm....

I'm happy with mine being vertical too. I have this thing about things being crooked, they make me twitch. ;) It's hard enough for me to try to hide them veing vertical, I can't imagine trying to hide something that's crooked.

Kinda funny that im the complete opposite  i think an angled or horizontal heater looks better than a vertical

i have mine horizontal hidden behind some big rocks, so its not visible. works great like that and nobody can see it, not even if you look for it.
do you see heaters in these?
