i have a JUWEL REKORD 120 it has a 100w heat that came a standard do you think this is enought to heat the tank? the reason i ask is had a little case of white spot :X (new tank, so thats what i'm putting down to?) so i turned the heat up but it didn't seem to produce enough heat through out the tank? i have got an other 100w heater from my old tank would it be worth while puting this the other end of the tank to give better heat through out the tank. or should i just go and buy a bigger better one?

Do you have a termometer? The stick on ones juwel tanks come with are practically useless. I would assume the heaters are powerful enough if it came with the tank, but a reliable thermometer will tell for sure (you can move around the tank so you can check all areas are getting enough heating).

That said though, if the the temperature isn't up to standard then by all means add the other one or buy a bigger one.

yeah got the juwel thermometer? but when i did a water change last night the water felt colder than it should have been at the far end, think i will add the other one to play safe a get a better thermometer.

Hi! If you already have another heater lying around then ya, I would add it to the tank. Put it at the opposite end and it will help heat the water more evenly. 200W of heat should be plenty for the tank although if the water is really cold for some reason it will likely take a little while for them to heat the water up.

The other bonus of having extra heating capacity is that if you have a power outage or if the room is cold then the heaters will be able to maintain a consistent temperature more easily.

Good luck.
