So, my betta "Crown" died today from Ich. Second one in a month. They were not in the same tank ever, and they were taken care of no differently than the two bettas I have. The two that are still alive, have never had Ich, and are very healthy. I do my 50% water changes every other day, or twice a week, depending. I feed them every other day, and always make sure to dechlorinate the water. Is it the store I bought them from? I bought both of the ones that died at the same place. The other two were bought elsewhere? Am I doing something wrong? All of my bettas are in 1 gallon, non heated tank, but the warm area i keep them in keeps the tanks at 74 degrees. They don't have filters, but I do water changes to keep ammonia out and have been successful. The two bettas that are alive I have had for almost a year, never changing the current conditions other than the water changes. Is this my fault that my newer bettas are dying from Ich? Or am I having a bad run? I need answers. I am no afraid to buy another one cause I dont want to kill it.

***ABSOLUTELY STUNNING UPDATE***** See the great news here~~~ http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/371392-omg-omg-omg-omg/

If you got them from the same place and then keep them in small, unfiltered tanks, the water conditions might have brought out ich in both. I know you do regular w/cs, but I think with such small tanks ammonia can build up so fast you'd have to be doing w/cs every day. Maybe if you got a bigger tank, split it in 2 and put a filter and heater in then you might have more luck?
Either way, maybe just avoid getting bettas from that shop for a bit.

So sorry for your losses  :rip:

Yeah, I'm not getting them from there. I got my recent one from a different LFS and he is flourishing. I am building a bigger planted tank now in hopes of getting him a lady friend. MY oldest betta, Blue, has proven to be an interesting one to please. Freaked at the filter, and he didn't like plants, so I am leaving him as is, and he is fine. He is in a tank that is roughly about a gallon.
