I am cycleing a 50 gallon and I think I am done, processing 5 ppm ammonia in 12 hours. I had gotten filter media from a friend to help speed it along.

I got to looking at her fish today and might have seen some ich. (It's at a restaraunt and so didn't have a chance to talk to her). Now I am a bit nervous about putting fish in there. DH pointed out that the fish could just be old and so that could be the problem. I have got some melafix that I can put in there without messing up the cycle.

So am I being paraniod?

If you think its Ich, i wouldn't risk it. Fish shouldn't look like they have Ich just because they are old.

If you have already put the media into your tank, i would continue adding ammonia for another week. By this time all the parasites will be dead if they have no fish to attach to.

Then you are ready to go!

Better waiting a week than stocking the tank only to find that all the fish get Ich.

Cheers

BTT :good:
