Does anybody know a source for healthy black swordtails in the U.S.? The only place in AZ I've even found any is Petco and every batch they've had has been extremely sickly. I've bought 5 or 6 from different batches and everyone of them has died, they seem to just waste away. The longest any of them lasted was a male who lasted about a month and a half. It's really depressing, black swords are my favorite of the swords. My others all do fine, it's just the black ones that die.

I just got 2 today here in Raleigh, NC they seem fine swimming around very happily, I'll let you know if things go south though, I think my LFS gets there fish from a huge breeding company in Kernersville, NC.

Hey! I found a pair of blacks at one of the LFS's that I don't go to very often today. They looked a lot perkier than the ones Petco has been getting so I decided to take a chance on them. They are in my quarentine tank now. I also found a really neat looking female hi fin lyretail. I thought at first that she was a green wag but her coloring is really more of a silver than green. I have seen pictures of silver wag platies on one website so maybe the silver wag color is being produced in swordies as well. Regardless, silver wag or green wag, she's gorgeous!
