Got 2 head and tail light tetras in my tank, not sure on sex,
One has got a massive belly, i mean really swollen and its area between its head and dorsil fin has dipped.

What is it?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Are scales sticking out.
Swim bladder can look like the tails weighing them down in the water.

Feed some shelled peas.
Epson salt baths to help draw the fluids out.
If you can issolate try a bacterial med.

400L tank (about 350L of water due to sand etc)
8 discus
2 angels
5 plecs
4 tetra
about 15 corys

amazon sword/giant vallis plants
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate about 12

cant see any scales sticking out or owt
looks normal/ok apart from its belly
looks too big to be spawning

Do you have an issolation tank. If so you just add the epson salt to the tank.

Don't feed him anything but peas for the next few days.

Got a small plastic goldfish tank (about 3-4L)

and a 150W heater at home

how much epson salt do i add?

normally the food i feed to all the tank is twice frozen (mixed tropical/discus quintet)
and 2 dry (vitakraft diskus food)

Is it constipation

Do you have an airstone or spare filter.

Yeah got an airstone and pump etc.

just looked at the link thanks

how long should i keep the fish in there?

should i fill the temp tank with water from my aquarium?

Yes jut use tank water. Then fill to top with fresh water, and match temp.
It depends on his progress how long he will in the issolation tank for.
If you don't mind let me know how he gets on.
Good Luck.

You might need to set the heater alot lower with it being quite big for the tank.
Try it on the lower setting first.

Yes.
Just add the epson salt, and internal bacteria med by interpet.

Introduce some green veg into there diet like broc, spinach, peas, green cabbage, sproats.

The heater should be fine if you set it on the lowest setting. But you will need to keep an eye on the temp of the tank.
If you have to go to the lfs anyway might aswell pick the correct heater size for the tank.
Make sure the heater stands away from the plastic tank. So buy a heater holder.

Thanks.
Not sure about using meds by interpet as last time i used it it nearly killed all my tank off big style
only after doing several 50% WC in 5 days did i manage to save the fish etc

i lost 4 fish

Interpet meds are usually safe. The one I have heard of that has had some bad affect is the anti fungus and finrot med by interpet. I don't rate the med much.

There also esha 2000.
Myxazin by waterlife more of an external med than internal.
