Iam a beginner breeder and this is my pairs second spawn. The male both times has done a great job building and caring for the eggs untill they have hatched. Today will be day 2 since the fry has hatched and just like last time, he has eaten half the fry... :-( Everything that I have been reading says NOT to feed him, but because of last time, I offered some food to him and he just ignored it. The fry are not free swimming yet and out of the aprx. 100 fry, MAYBE 10 are left. Is there something Im doing that is causing him to eat the fry, or is this just him? Should I take him out regardless that the fry aren't free swimming in attempt to save the fry? Any help would be great as Id hate to lose them all again!
Thanks!

The male betta will sometimes eat the fry. I just read that if you see any signs of the male eating them, remove the male from the tank immediately and lower the water level down to 2 inches so the fry can suvive on their own, if they fall out the nest they can swim back up to it easier

how long are you conditioning the male and female for ?

what tail types are the male and female and how old are they ?
