Hc Newbie Help Please

I am very keen on carpetting with HC cuba. Basically I have ordered and recieved 10 small plants in plastic baskets. Within the baskets seems to be cotton wool, or it could be the root system.
What is the best way to plant these?
Should I remove them from the baskets? Should I remove the cotton wool? Or should I put them in as they are?

Any advice would be appreciated

Sounds like rockwool? I'd remove everything off the roots carefully

Remove rockwool as carefully as possible, then plant each stem individually or in very small clumps. Planting individually is about the most tedious thing I've ever done but the carpet fills in more evenly due to the even distribution of plants.
