Hc Being Torn Out

I have a piece of driftwood that has hc on it but as soon as I got my second flagfish it is floating around my tank and thinning out on my driftwood. The small bit I have frowing on the substrate is still ok though. Do you guys think that it is the flagfish. I dont think it is being eaten because it is floating in my tank and don't know if it just grew to thick because of excel and is thinning itself out.

Ive got a couple of flagfish (lovely fish BTW) they have int he past eaten my plants, a rotala if I remember so you might find they try and eat the HC and in the process pull it out.

Ya I know at first I got one to battle some bba which cant tell if she did but had to get another because of how cool they look.
